David Pulkingham

David Pulkingham is a guitarist, songwriter, producer, and teacher. Based in Austin TX he has been a mainstay of the thriving music scene for the last twenty-five years.
David has released two instrumental albums entitled David Pulkingham Plays Guitar volumes 1 and 3, and in 2015 he released his first singer/songwriter album entitled Little Pearl. His other recording projects include the instrumental duo Pulkingham Layne (with longtime friend and guitarist extraordinaire Darin Layne). That duo has three albums under its belt: PoisonFlower (2017), Stringology (2019), and D Shack (2021). Most recently David has teamed up with Canadian keyboardist and songwriter, Jay Stiles, to form the band SuperTonic. This project will release their first album, Time To Repair, in 2021.
David currently tours with Patty Griffin and has played with her for the past 8 years. He co-wrote two songs on her recent Grammy-winning eponymous album.
His mastery of numerous styles has lead him to share the stage and record with many artists around the world. Famed David Bowie producer, Tony Visconti calls David " the complete guitarist, one of the best I have ever worked with."
In addition to his extensive touring work with Alejandro Escovedo, Carrie Rodriguez, Sara Watkins and Patty Griffin, David has performed with both the Lampedusa and Lantern tours to benefit refugee services. On these performances, he served as a backup musician for the likes of Robert Plant, Emmylou Harris, Steve Earle, Joan Baez, Jackson Browne, Buddy Miller, Lucinda Williams, and Lila Downs.

Jay Stiles is a nine-fingered Canadian Musician based in Austin, Texas. Since 2015, Jay has been establishing himself as a consummate sideman, lending his keyboard talents and vocals to numerous projects in Austin and beyond. Jay specializes in vintage keyboards, including Hammond organ, Wurlitzer electric piano, clavinet, and Rhodes. He is creating and writing all the time as well as performing with a diverse group of artists.
Some of the artists that Jay has played within Austin include Black Pumas, Shinyribs, Pike and Sutton, Suzanna Choffel, MVP, Garrett Lebeau, Robert Kraft, Henri Herbert, and Papa Mali.
His most recent performances in Canada have been with Ontarians, Big Sugar, AHI, Pat Robitaille, and Frank Deresti and the Lake Effect.
Jay also works closely in A&R for Big Sugar Sound. With Gordie Johnson, he has acquired numerous artists to perform on the reggae label, including himself.
Jay maintains a residency at C Boys Heart and Soul with the Heart & Soul Collective, a revolving cast of some of the finest players in Austin. Jay serves as the master of ceremonies from behind the B3 organ and leads an improvised funky night with special guests coming through on a regular basis.
Jay collaborates virtually with artists around the world from his home studio and is available for remote session work.
When he is not creating Music, Jay enjoys sweat lodges, kayaking, swimming, biking, photography, tacos, and mezcal.
